Oral health-related quality of life in patients infected with HIV, Iran: a cross-sectional study

Abstract Background The life expectancy of patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has increased, but its oral manifestations can affect the Oral Health-Related Quality Life (OHRQoL) these patients. This study aimed to evaluate OHRQoL in HIV-infected and determine related factors. Methods In this cross-sectional study, 250 were randomly selected from Shiraz Voluntary Counseling Testing center 2019. was measured using revised Geriatric Health Assessment Index for HIV associations between patients’ demographic characteristics examined. Results mean score patients' 24.55 ± 6.27. lowest highest scores belonged psychosocial pain categories, respectively. univariate analysis, significantly associated age ( p = 0.012), duration disease 0.009), job 0.006), edentulous status 0.003), wearing denture < 0.001).
